Database marketing and direct mail fulfilment Direct mail is an important part of The Economist's subscriptions marketing strategy and includes renewals, acquisition, new-name, and re-qualification campaigns. BTB Mailflight handle their subscription renewal mailings, subscription acknowledgement letters, and invoices, as well as their large volume international direct mail campaigns which are up to 250,000 mail pieces each time. BTB Mailflight supply the print and materials for these campaigns as well as handling the fulfilment, and our international mail solution ensures they benefit from a range of services and low prices. |

In 2006 Northern and Shell (N&S) decided to outsource the subscription management and fulfilment of 3 major consumer titles: OK!, New and Star. Subscription management BTB Mailflight has created a bespoke subscription management database for all three titles with a full reporting suite for |
| subscription data, data profiling and financial management. We host this database and have worked with N&S to optimise current subscriber data. BTB Mailflight provide a dedicated order processing and customer service team via our in-house contact centre and provide mail order and on-line payment processing for subscription and back issue orders, and full banking services for mail order payments. As well as phone calls and postal responses we also process web orders for new subscriptions and back issue orders received direct from each title's branded website. Magazine mailing fulfilment We provide UK and international mailing services for all three N&S titles. This includes laser printing, polywrapping, handwork, and postal services. |

BTB Mailflight's relationship with Institute of Physics Publishing (IOPP) began in 1996. The core service we provide to them is fulfilment of their magazine mailings. We handle nine titles including monthly, bi-monthly and quarterly mailings, their circulations ranging from 5000 to 40,000. The total number of magazines mailed annually is around 1.75 million. |
